Case Study: Delivering festival fun for DotFest '24!

Willow Lake Audio had the privilege of supplying audio, video, lighting and stage for The Dot Collective's summer staff party, bringing the festival weekend to a glamping venue in Northamptonshire. Blessed with glorious sunshine, this was a super fun way for the company to thank it's employee's by hosting live music, wellness sessions, awards and late night karaoke, along with live streaming the country's finest music acts on our LED wall, turning the site into their very own live lounge.

We we're briefed to supply an all encompassing A/V solution, and after a great discussion with the client to discover their vision for the event, we specified a small stage under a weatherproof pop-up gazebo, an active PA system with a wireless and wired microphone package, and a 3x2m ground-stacked LED wall as the festival centrepiece.

For audio, our Yamaha DZR15s brought the noise, providing plenty of powerful sound to the 100px audience, with Yamaha DBR12s for on-stage monitors. Our Allen & Heath Qu16 was the mixer of choice, while our Shure SLX mic rack allowed the execs to roam the stage for the awards. We also had a selection of Shure, Audix and Klark Technik mics and DIs for the live performances.

The video package consisted of a 3x2m Gloshine 3.9 outdoor LED system with Novastar processing, with a Roland V1-HD vision mixer seamlessly switching between the company logo, livestream and karaoke tracks, for flawless transitions. Internet access was through a 4G router loaded with 2 Sim cards for network redundancy.

Lighting consisted of a package of RGB LED wash panels, controlled with our Eurolite DMX Move Control 512 Pro, washing the stage with vibrant colour and creating colour changing effects for the performances and awards stings.

Despite the early morning start and late night finish, our Rob and trusted video freelancer Antonio carried the day with finesse and a small, meaning our client was free to enjoy the day to the fullest. Thank you to the team!
